City Hall, How We Adore Thee

collection of chris leverette Postcard City Hall and Subway, New York
chris leverette
Fred Guenther. city hall.
Fred Guenther
City Hall was the ceremonial terminal of the first subway project in New York, the place where the mayor could show off the subway built with the people's money to benefit the greatest city in the country. The official start of construction took place on 24 March 1900 at the front steps of City Hall, on the site of the station.
Unfortunately, for all that, it was never an important station. It was located on the turning loop for local trains from uptown, and both those and the express trains could be easily taken at the very nearby Brooklyn Bridge station.

I think it's absolutely beautiful. I would love to go and see it for myself one day. of course take photographs. I was bored at home and I have a fetish for thinking of one random thing and googling it. Learning something new each day. I decided to look up abandoned train station in New York City.
They have a whole bunch believe it or not.
But this one caught my eye.
The history is awesome.

If you take the out of service 6 train all the way to the last stop you will see the abandoned station. I have seen it, very quickly of course you have to watch fast.
The conductor has access the key that opens a door that lets you on the platform.
But he's not able to do so. This station has been closed off for years.
I was told they do tours, But I have no way in knowing if thats right, or if they still do so...

Look at the difference in the scenery. Can you imagine yourself living in that time?
Pleated skirts to your ankles. Mostly trolleys, not that many trains...no ipod, internet..no face book...yikes!
lol...
I think it would've been interesting...Learn something new.

How I'm Feeling

Photobucket
I lose sight of the days cuz they all look the same, and I wish I had wings and enough strength to take me to where I need to go, which is anywhere but here. im tired of the same songs that never die on the radio, tired of the corners I turn each day. I wish for a new and bright beginning that won't fade. I'm tired of small canvases that contain nothing, I want a blank full size canvas so I can start a new and paint whatever my heart desires with no rules that I would eventually break. I want to strive, not to become the best, but to become my best. To be happy in whatever it is I decide to do, whatever it is I decide to lead, whoever it is that is there to see me shine. I want to live and not hideaway in the middle of four walls. there's so much more out there. not only sirens, the sound of babies crying, mothers screaming
gunshots poppin, pounds smacking, radios blasting, microwaves beeping, televisions glaring, his mouth yapping. I want to breathe a polluted air and magically once I exhale ill be breathing fresh air, that's close to blue waters, not green. I want to roll around in mothers natures sand, not the man next to the guy that's near me made. I want to stare up and actually see the stars not the lightbulbs in the poles. I want my biggest problem to be what spf should I pick.

Here's a new one for ya

Photobucket
enjoy!
let me know what you think

Apology

(plural apologies)
1.An expression of
remorse or regret for having said or done something that harmed another: an instance of apologizing (saying that one is sorry).
What he said really hurt my feelings, but his apology sounded so sincere that I couldn't help but forgive him.
The CEO made a public apology for the scandal, and promised full cooperation with the authorities.
2.A formal
justification, defence.

An expression of regret it says.... so express... don't just say and do it again.

Reality Check:

In Hong Kong, a betrayed wife is legally allowed to kill her husband if he cheats on her.
I think they should pass this law in the United States. What do you think?

Marriage= Hell

Photobucket
Where do I even start? Or not start in this case.
When your a little girl, your mother preaches over you, about fairytales and prince charmings.
The media rearranges the little brain cells you have left to believe that all you see on television can become reality. They constantly sell you the dream.
Coming from a broken home with a lot of love, I was a tomboy when I was younger.
I don't remember daydreaming about the day I got married, until recently.
I never wanted to get married. I found no point for it.
Lately, that's all I have been thinking about and I feel absolutely stupid... what the hell made me change my mind? A boy of course.
I'm glad I'm back to my old self.
I still love you. But no marriage. What's the point of a piece of paper?
I'mma lose it anyway.
It's me for damn sakes.
I can make a commitment without having to involve the government, I dont like them anyway.
In 10 years the government labels you together anyway.... and lets face it... marriages now a days, dont last.
I want to be with you, because I want to be there for you. I want you to be there for me because I want you to want to be there for me.
Marriage becomes work, I dont want us to become a job. Not by force.
But who knows, maybe in time my mind will change again.
People tend to forget, or they dont realize,
I'm not a tomboy anymore.
I'm a girl.
Ugh.

Now That's Love

Photobucket
I walked into his house today, his mother and little sister sitting at the kitchen table. I take off my hoodie, and in my pocket of the hoodie I had a pack of oreos, crumbled. Like if a fat guy did a body slam on em. So his little sister sees the oreos.. and goes..ooooooooooo.... and I'm laughing and say..ooooooooooooo... with her.
We love us some oreos. I tell her they are crumbled, and we joke about throwing them in a bowl of vanilla ice cream... which sounded awesome at the time...except we had no ice cream.
She goes upstairs, washes her hair. I sit in the living room with the boyfriend, we watch a movie.
About 45 minutes into the movie she runs down the stairs, holding a ziplock bag in her hand and a note stapled to the ziplock. It reads: " Enjoy your non crushed oreos. Love, Irene"
The ziplock was stuffed with oreos.
Now that's love.

Avatar

Photobucket
So I just got back from the movies. I was with the boyfriend, my brother, and a couple of friends. We decided to watch Avatar on imax.
I have to admit, I had no desire to watch this movie at all... I have seen the trailers and commercials many of times, and not once have I said..." I wanna go see that''
I'm so glad that this movie proved me wrong.
The animation and computer graphics were absolutely beautiful and the colors were mind blowing. I felt as if i was there. I was at awe.
The story line was interesting and kept me intrigued... but I couldn't help stare at all the beautiful effects and colors.
I think that was my favorite part.
I advise you go see it, the commercials dont do it justice.
Later blog heads.
Photobucket
So, I'm back... I had to write some more...Now theres a big rumor going on that Avatar has the same story line as Disney's Pocahantas .
Photobucket
If you've seen it, let me know what you think, after reading the note above... I have to agree with it.
But this is not the first time that Hollywood has remade a movie into another movie.

Woke up in a great mood today...

Photobucket
I woke up in a great mood today and that quickly faded. I'm lying in bed, reading... I was tired of my computer for the first time and decided to pick up a book.
Oh, how quickly things change. Especially after the smallest thing that you think that wont bother you, does.
So much for that....
